Backcountry Skills Series: Trip Planning -Are you looking to take your camping skills to a new level or planning a more advanced trip? Join an experienced instructor to learn the basics of trip planning that will cover logistics and sources of information gathering. Explore previously planned trips and regional trip opportunities.

Ages: 10 years & over (Minors between the ages of 10-17 MUST have a registered and participating adult)
Fee: $16 per person (All guests MUST register)

Start planning your next adventure! Get inspired by viewing examples of trips that have been planned and executed, while also learning the basics of trip planning. Instructional topics include logistical considerations, route planning, risk management, and information sources. We’ll have time for questions, so come prepared, and bring your bucketlist trips ideas. Classes will begin promptly, so plan to arrive a few minutes early.

This program is part of our Backcountry Skills Series. Taking this class along with the others in the series will have you backpacking like a pro in no time. Register for 1 or all!
• March 13 – Backcountry Skills Series: Backpacking Basics - Learn the basics to having a safe and enjoyable backcountry experience before investing in expensive gear.
• March 15 – Backcountry Skills Series: Land Navigation 1 - Join us in this land navigation primer that will enhance your ability to stay found on the trails, use trail maps, and plan trips.
• March 15 – Backcountry Skills Series: Land Navigation 2 - This course picks up where Land Navigation 1 left off, moving towards wayfinding on and off the trail.
• March 27 – Backcountry Skills Series: Backcountry Cooking - Let your taste buds go wild as you discover tips and tricks to cooking a variety of delicious meals for your next backpacking trip.
• April 3 – Backcountry Skills Series: Trip Planning - Learn the basics of trip planning that will cover logistics and sources of information gathering. Explore previously planned trips and regional trip opportunities.
• April 10 – Backcountry Skills Series: Knots to Know - Join us as we practice the knots that make hiking, backpacking, climbing and boating a breeze.
