Learn-To-Swim: Level 1 - HIRLTSLEVEL1

One of six progressive levels to help swimmers of varying ages and abilities develop their water safety, survival and swim skills. Registration will be online only.

Level 1 - Introduction to Water Skills
Helps participants feel comfortable in the water.  Develops the child's readiness for learning more advanced skills.


SKILLS TO BE LEARNED:
Enter and exit water using ladders, steps or side
Blow bubbles through mouth and nose
Bobbing
Open eyes under water and retrieved submerged objects
Front and back glides and floats
Recover to vertical position
Roll from front to back and back to front
Tread water using arm and hand actions
Alternating and simultaneous leg actions on front and back
Alternating and simultaneous arm actions on front and back
Combined arm and leg actions on front and back


PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:
The child must have completed the Jellyfish level or have skills equivalent to the requirements of the Jellyfish level.

Cancellations 
By registering, you acknowledge that you have read and understand the cancellation policy:
Program fees and deposits are not refundable or transferable unless Cleveland Metroparks finds it necessary to cancel a program. Participants assume risk of all changes in personal health and affairs. 
If Cleveland Metroparks cancels a program, the cancellation will be posted on the registration page for that program.  For programs other than races, participants will also be notified by e-mail and/or phone.
